Adventurer Path | DNDBeyond

Join the community as an adventurer in our westmarch inspired minecraft virtual tabletop campaign. Where you can roleplay as a 5e D&D character. With over 40+ D&D races and subraces there is a lot for you to choose from to make the best character you can.

Create a character using D&DBeyond

Remember everything on DNDbeyond is clickable and full of helpful information if you are ever confused about what something does click it and find out.

Step One: Select A Campaign

Each DnDBeyond campaign can only hold 12 players for a max of 60 players all together. With the addition of our second account we now can have 120 players. If you have the source material already you may use your own DnD Beyond account or the Google Sheet Template to help us save space in our campaign slots for newer players who are not as knowledgeable in character creation.

DnDBeyond Campaigns

If you are using DNDbeyond and make additional characters in the future make sure you make them IN the same campaign as your other characters. Only player accounts count against the campaign slots not characters.

Alternatively you could use the google sheets.

Due to people not part of our server abusing our campaigns we have removed access to the campaigns contact a volunteer on our discord.

Characters not part of our server will be deleted.

Select: Create A New Character or Join with a previously made character.

Inactivity & Using our Campaigns

Note: Using our campaigns while not being on our server will have your sheet deleted. Make sure your character name includes your IGN for our Minecraft server or you will also be deactivated. ex: Character Name [MC IGN]

Also if you go inactive on our server for 3 weeks (if level 4) and  1 month (if past level 4) or lack any interaction on the server we deactivate the character until you can be active again.

Always make sure that if you are storing or getting rid of a character after your request is accepted please deactivate your character sheets so a new player has space. Our priority is to make sure we have space and have active characters filling the campaign slots.

 -Thank you, Kyazi.

DNDBeyond Step: Creation Method

For character creation Standard is a great starting point for anyone new or old to dndbeyond. There are two other options such as Quick Build (creates a character using recommended starting options - starts you at level one not ideal for new players if they do not know how to edit the sheet) and Randomize ( Generates a random character - also not ideal for our server)

Naming your character: Character Name [Minecraft IGN]

Step Two: Character Preference

Use the provided image as a reference for how the settings should look. Look at Settings

Step Four: Select Your Class + Subclass

Artificer, Barbarian, Bard, Cleric, Druid, Fighter, Monk, Paladin, Ranger, Rogue, Sorcerer, Warlock, Wizard

Multi-classing is allowed. Don't forget to select your sub-class too!

If you selected a class with spells at Step Eight we will guide you how to add your spells.

Starting Level

All characters start at Level Four make sure your character is set to level 4 before moving to the next page.

Health Points

All health points are averaged automatically you can ignore the Manage HP option. But you are able to see what your current max hit points are at your level.

Select Your Proficiencies

At 1st level you may have some proficiencies to choose. Make sure you do not forget those.

Select Your Subclass

Each subclass is unique to your class in the image you can see the Barbarian Subclass "Path" options. Each subclass does something different and has different abilities or perks.

Select Your Ability Score Improvement

At 4th level you gain the option to add an ASI (ability score improvement) or a FEAT. ASIs add to your base stats like str, dex, etc. While Feats can give you unique abilities or access to different skills. Some feats even give you an ASI increase as well as a small perk.

Step Five: Set up your stats

Here on RPDND we use 27 point buy or Standard Array

Point Buy allows you to control your stats more carefully and target ability scores you wish to enhance allowing for more customization over all. You only have 27 points to use but each time you go higher in a stat the more points it will cost you.

Standard Array is a specific set of scores-- those scores would be [ 15, 14, 13, 12, 10, 8] These numbers can be assigned to any of your stats in any order.

Example: 15 strength, 14 dexterity, 13 constitution, 8 intelligence, 12 wisdom, 10 charisma

Because we have Tasha's you are able to modify your Racial Bonuses and put them into new stats. You can NOT stack stats onto the same stat. Example if you have a +2 in Str and a +1 in dex you can not combine them for a +3 in Con

Step Six: Select your background

All backgrounds in our Source Material are allowed except a select few.

Restricted* →

*Noble backgrounds are allowed if you do not say you are a noble of Aldsea.

Custom Backgrounds →

Custom Backgrounds are allowed; you are required to follow PHB rules. Include [CB] in the name of your background.

To maintain immersion within the world being created we do not allow for characters to have come from established non D&D IPs. While you can take influence from, please do not take directly from pop culture of IPs. For example, you may craft your backstory to be a monster hunter from a ravaged world but you may not be a Witcher. If you have any questions the DM team are happy to answer in tickets.

*Subject to change

Character Details, Physical Characteristics, Personal Characteristics, & Notes are not required but may be helpful for you.

Step Seven: Select Starter Gear

For your sheet you will select Gold. This gold does not affect your character in anyway and you can ignore this.

We now have all starter gear (and more) in game if you do not have the item in-game you can not use the item in events. We focus only on the items that are functional and required for basic gameplay. Any additional items can be crafted or purchased in game using our marketplace or custom crafting system.

Players will log in with 30 platinum (300 gold) to use in the Admin Shop or a Player Shop (it is encouraged to use player shops as they are cheaper than the marked up admin shop) Background Character Items like Lockets etc can be made using our Lore Token plugin.

Step Eight: Adding Spells

If you have a class that has spells this is the section for you! Navigate to the Spell section and then click Manage Spells. This is where you will select which spells you need.

Magic Classes can have:

Some classes can change their spells daily, at level up, or some are unable to change their chosen spells but just adds to the spell list on each level up.

Cantrips do not consume spell slots

Prepared Spells (Leveled Spells) do consume Spell Slots like pictured below.

Don't forget your Bonus Feat

Due to completing a Community Goal during our Fundraiser. Every character gains a feat upon creation. Meaning if you play a race [Variant Human] who starts with 1 feat already you can now begin with 2 feats.

How to add a bonus feat on DNDbeyond: Once your sheet is finished go to Features & Traits (right side) then click Feats followed by Manage Feats.

Apply on Discord

Now that you have a completed character sheet copy the Share Link & head over to the Discord to make your Adventurer Application Ticket. Follow the button below for instructions on how to do it.

Reworks

You can rework your character TWICE before you hit Level 9 and ONCE from Level 9 to 17. No, you can not change your race or gender (must get it pre-approved by Kyazi) and it must be re-approved in the #character-files channel using Begin A Rework on discord before it takes effect. This allows new players to test out and fix any character creation mistakes.
