Follow the instructions for the path you wish to be when you join the server. Some parts of the paths may overlap or share similarities. Remain within your selected path to complete the character creation.
New to the server? We recommend seeking out a mentor, guild, or RP hotspot to help your character get settled. It’s a great way to build early connections and ease into the world of RPDND.

Civilians are non-combatants who focus more on roleplay and life around the city due to lower event access.
Adventurers gain skills, magic, etc as they level up over time. Going into npc interactions, events, or dungeons while being guided by a Dungeon Master.

The civilian path is perfect for those who enjoy creating pure roleplay characters, want minimal combat and an easier version of the standard D&D character sheets. The civilian path is created using specializations and allows players with minimal D&D experience to make a quick character while still being able to take part in the events in our minecraft roleplay server.
Civilians carve their own path with limited power, using clever thinking, social maneuvering, and roleplay to shape the world around them. Civilians create new interactions for all and show what can truly be done even when limited by a lack of magic or skills.
Register your civilian in #civilian-signup on the discord using the civilian form on this page.

Since you are choosing to follow the civilian path you can choose a race that visually works with your character idea. While each race has a backstory and history were in a campaign where you can come from anywhere reducing the restriction on character creation.

Tools are utilized in the server as a way to perform tasks skillfully. When you start on the server you are an expert in two tools and then gain proficiency over time in other tools you have chosen in your application.

Your character's backstory is important for how they wish to interact with the world and other characters. Is your character more hostile to strangers? Why? Do they love sweets and seek the greatest recipe? Did they come to this land due to an accident in their old world or were they born within these lands? The choice is yours but how you decide to craft your character will have doors open or close for you.
In making your character backstory, include how your character got to this world if they're not a native. Examples include 'entered a portal intentionally, it somehow rerouted to this realm' or 'at the brink of what I thought was death, I got pulled through a wormhole to this world' or 'I was walking through a field and a rift appeared as I took my next step and I wound up here' and "If your character is native to this world, try to see to it that it aligns with our lore - being a noble would require permission from the lore team, for example

Civilian application forms must be submitted to the discord channel #civilian-signup under the Character Creation category once it is posted there you are officially a civilian of RPDND and can participate in events as a non-combatant. Utilize the skills you put within your form to create roleplay opportunities.
Civilian applications do not need to be approved but if there is an error or concern a member of the volunteer team may reach out to get it corrected to clear up any confusion.

The adventurer's path can be full of excitement and danger! Clashing with enemies, monsters, and even political troubles. When you choose this path you are choosing to grow stronger in mind and body. Adventurer's are vital to keeping the cities and villages safe from danger, uncovering lost artifacts in the depths of dungeons, and utilizing your skills to create opportunities.
Important: RPDND currently uses Legacy (pre-2024) D&D rules only. Characters using new 2024 content will not be approved.

You are free to submit a character using either one of the below options: DND Beyond or Google Sheets.
Server Tip: If this is your first character on the server not to play any criminal type characters and make time to learn the server before doing so.

Requirements:
Must include your [IGN] in the name of your character.
Once your character is accepted remove your character from the campaign.
When you level up you can readd your character to one of the campaigns and do your updates before removing again.

It is advised that if you are new to D&D to use the D&D Beyond campaigns as they are more user friendly.

Double check that your things are correct.

Adventurer application forms must be submitted to the ticket Adventurer Sign Up in the discord channel #adventurer-signup under the Character Creation category. Once you submit the ticket a Dungeon Master or Applications team member will review your character sheet. While waiting on application approval, you may play as a non-combatant civilian character to begin immersing yourself in the world. Once your application is approved a DM will close your ticket and place your character sheet in the #character-archive channel.
Note: Application Reviews can take up to a few days depending on availability, ticket load, and response time from you. But again you can play on the server even before an application is submitted and start to learn about the various activities on RPDND.

Alternative Accounts & Characters

Alternate characters add a fresh look by giving you a secondary perspective, enrich your involvement in the server's story and community as well as allow you to try new classes, races, and other things.
An important thing to remember is that your Alternate Character & Main Character CAN NEVER INTERACT with each other, Be INVOLVED, or otherwise have any relation with each other. As well as you are not allowed to be logged in to two accounts at the same time. This will get your Alternate character privileges revoked (and or removed from the server). While I trust you all to be honest, fair, and not cheat if I do not make this clear now then someone will do it eventually.

Alternate Characters can not be in the same guild as your main character.
Alternate Characters (atm) must bunk with someone that is not your main character (due to space this should be resolved when time allows.)
You can not dual log on two accounts at the same time.
Trading, Roleplaying or interacting with your Alternate character is against the rules and considered metagaming. We understand the topic may come up but going out of your way to learn of your character is wrong.
Using your alternate character or another person's character to mule items between your characters is against the rules.
For large scale events, you may only sign up and participate with one character, unless there is an overabundance of party slots and no player that hasn't participated yet can be found to fill it. (and as long as the event isn't happening at the same time as your main)
Alternate characters are not the primary characters and their review time may take longer than a new main character for a new player. Please understand that the DM team (who does the reviewing) are also human and need time for themselves; they will review the applications when they are free.

Alternate Civilians will remain as they are now [Fill out the Template in #civilian-signup with your expertise and then post it within the channel]
Alternate Adventurers are required to be registered through the Adventurer Application within #adventurer-signup. Again review times may be longer as we prioritize new player character applications first.
If you have used all of your storage & active character slots on other characters you will have to make space by deleting a character. Players can have two minecraft accounts with 2 character slots (1 active & 1 stored). You can swap between characters every 30 days.
